Like a lot of dramatic stories, this one starts with a couple in love. They’d just gotten hitched and were set to depart the next morning on their dream honeymoon to Bali. With their travel agent, a colleague of mine, they had planned for six months to make sure this was the trip of a lifetime.
For these honeymooning clients, she had booked ten incredible nights divided between the beach and a culturally-rich main city, complete with a private driver, 5-star resorts, VIP access to special honeymoon perks, and exciting excursions. For the honeymooners, this was not only a dream trip that represented a ton of planning time; it also was a significant financial investment that they had worked and saved for months to pay for.
Imagine their agent’s shock when she got a call on the morning of their departure: they’d uncharacteristically overslept and missed their international flight. People think that the perks of hiring a travel agent begin and end with the planning, but that’s not true at all. The real benefit of hiring an agent is something you discover when an emergency arises and you’ve got to figure out what the heck to do.
Their travel agent immediately moved into action. Here’s what she did:
Getting organized can help you make sense of all the info out there.
It can help you move past analysis paralysis and start making concrete plans.
Best of all, when you’re clear on what you need, you can start to get excited about the amazing trip that’s coming up instead of feeling overwhelmed and stressed!
There are so many options for having a fabulous honeymoon, and my hope is that this list will help you narrow them down.
As you make your plans for your destination wedding, honeymoon, or next getaway, the first thing you have to check is your passport.
Do you have one? When does it expire?
If you have one, I’ve got the steps you need to follow to make sure everything is a go. If you don’t have one, I’ll tell you exactly what you need.
Many tourists in Italy make the fatal faux pas of ordering a cappuccino at the end of a meal, like after a pizza at lunchtime (a bit of a no-no in itself).
A good waiter will swallow his pride and allow the tourist to swallow all that frothy milk on a full stomach, but as you have likely read elsewhere, it is considered a "rule" in Italy not to have a cappuccino after a certain hour.
After more than a decade of living in Italy, I can tell you that,
Honeymoons too often take a backseat to the arrangements and plans of the actual wedding, but you owe it to yourself to give honeymoon planning greater and more careful attention.
After all, while the wedding is mainly for your family and friends, the once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon that follows is a private getaway for you and your new spouse to celebrate your marriage.
Though you may spend a portion of your vacation relaxing and reflecting on this major life change, the honeymoon is most of all an opportunity to enjoy being a newlywed, spending quality time with your new spouse, and experiencing a romantic and exciting getaway.
Anguilla is more than a destination. Anguilla is an experience, a special feeling found nowhere else.
Anguilla represents the ultimate in escape from the ordinary, the opportunity to leave behind the busy everyday to wrap oneself in the very essence of relaxation.

An increasing number of couples are choosing destination weddings over traditional "white gown and rehearsal dinner" weddings.
Destination weddings provide a fun opportunity to reunite family and friends in a truly amazing setting or to celebrate a private ceremony in an unforgettable locale.
With destination weddings representing approximately ten percent of all weddings, it is easier to find more cruise lines and resorts offering robust and attractively priced packages especially designed for wedding parties.
Nowadays in the Caribbean, an all-inclusive resort experience does not have to mean that your own special interest in travel gets lost in the wider shuffle.
Big no longer translates to a lack of attention or absence of options for your own travel focus.
This is certainly the case around the island of Jamaica – where the all-inclusive hotel concept is said to
Just imagine acres of glorious countryside where hills undulate under a blanket of green and flocks of sheep and cows graze come rain or shine.
Think of a destination where the national emblem of the thistle is reminiscent of fierce battles with Vikings from years gone by.
This is Scotland, a place for an inherently romantic getaway offering superb scenery.
This beautiful country is overflowing with many splendid examples of castles, culture and a sense of history.
Scotland offers a cozy, unique destination for a honeymoon, where snuggling under the
Packing to go traveling? Let me tell you a story…Several years ago, I did an 10 day adventure tour with Intrepid Tours, through Italy with my sister. I was just over 4 months pregnant with my 2nd child. The literature informed us to pack light as we would be carrying our luggage up 3 to 5 flights of stairs each night. So we packed light. Everything for 10 days travel went into my rolling school backpack plus a day pack over my shoulders. When the other women arrived from various locations around the USA, I began to cringe. They had large suitcases with matching small cases and luggage size purses. Boy, was I going to be under dressed. Not so! My careful planning and packing decked me out appropriately at every instance. I even had room to take home gifts for everyone. Bonus… hiking up those stairs was a cinch for me… no effort at all! Plus absolutely no extra fees for luggage!!!
